The Gomshall Mill, near Guildford

A beautifully refurbished 11th century mill-turned-pub, in the village of Gomshall near Guildford. Expect historic English charm, cosy log fires, a pretty riverside garden and classic menus.

We love historic success story! And the award-winning pub The Gomshall Mill has it’s own wonderful happy ending.

Located in charmingly rural village of Gomshall on the A25 just outside Guildford, the pub has been around since the 11th century, as seen in the Domesday Book.

Once part of the local industry, powered by the River Tillingbourne it was still a working corn mill until 1952. It then became a post office, before being transformed into a beautiful, award-winning riverside pub in 2010.

Sadly, the Grade II listed building later fell into disrepair and closed in 2021. Step forward New Dawn Pubs – who took over and reopened in December 2022 after a full refurb and glow-up. Today The Gomshall mill is a fabulous destination pub for walkers and explorers alike.

The Gomshall Mill lives and breathes food and drink with quality, seasonal menus filled with classic British dishes with a twist, alongside alluring gastro delights to ignite the taste buds. They take care to choose the best quality raw ingredients that are sourced locally and sustainably wherever possible. And the pub is known for its careful allergy and intolerance menus, so guests can simply relax with friends. Classics including freshly prepared fish and chips (using dedicated gluten free fryers) and traditional pies (made off-site to protect from contamination) as well as delicious puddings.

Equal attention goes to the drinks too. There’s a wide selection of quality tipples, from award-winning English sparkling wines and gins to locally brewed craft beers.

So enjoy a slice of history with a visit to this gorgeous gastro pub.
