Built in 1892, The Prince of Wales has undergone a massive facelift to bring new life to this historic pub. The new contemporary design showcases spruced up and super stylish interiors which blend well with the sensitively restored original features. There’s a lovely original open fireplace and unique original flooring.
The pub is now home to a gorgeous 48-seat orangery, a new outdoor bar, firepit and a heated terrace area nestled within the gardens. This is a haven for those who like all-year alfresco dining. There are also plenty of individual blankets on hand for extra snuggle.
Food and drink
The menus focus quality ingredients, showcasing seasonal produce from the local region and across the British Isles throughout the year.
If you love social dining, you’ll love the food at The Prince of Wales – sharing is at the heart of the menu with a tempting choice of Mediterranean-inspired small plates and sharing platters. But those not keen on sharing are not left short on choices either. The carefully curated menu offers a wide range of elevated classics including fish and chips, burgers and steaks, plus seasonal salads and artisan pizzas. The menu has been designed with a range of guests and dining experiences in mind.
Oh, and you’ll be spoilt for choice with the extensive drinks menu which includes draft ale and beer, artisan bottled beer and cider, plus a a range of low or no-alcohol beer and gluten free beer. There’s an extensive wine list, and the cocktails are lip-smackingly delicious. That’s a promise!
Where?
Location wise you’re in a lovely spot. Both West End Common and Esher Common both close by offering good woodland and waterside walks – perfect for pre or post-lunch stolls. A large green and duck pond are stone’s throw away from the pub’s front doors and the National Trust’s Claremont Landscape Garden is also a few minutes’ away. It’s near neighbour is local farm shop, Garson’s which you can buy local produce and pick your own fruit and vegetables during the summer months.
