We asked. You voted. And voted. And voted… The competition was incredible this year. Are you ready for this? Reaching over 10 million people nationally in eight weeks, more than 515,000 votes were cast nationwide! To win a Muddy Award (and one that’s entirely based on the public vote at that) is definitely something to shout from the rooftops.



Naturally, it was time to raise a glass (or several) to the best indie businesses in Surrey 2024, as voted by you, at our annual Muddy Awards party.

Thank you to all of you who voted and made the awards possible. It’s our biggest pleasure to support brilliant local businesses and tell you about them so you can enjoy them too! We love an elegant venue for the Muddy Awards party. And The Restaurant at Denbies&#8217; Vineyard Hotel at Denbies is the perfect place for a summer soirée. It&#8217;s a beautiful space with floor to ceiling glass doors that open onto a terrace overlooking the grape vines.

It’s also on England’s biggest wine estate, where award-winning tipples are in no short supply, is also a major plus.



It was a civilised midday celebration to make the most of the summer sun &#8211; and yes we were lucky the sun did shine!

We sipped Denbies delicious Whitedowns Sparkling Wine, and the food was incredible – a buffet lunch from the Denbies kitchens – and if that makes you feel peckish, The Restaurant here is open in the evening to local visitors as well as guests staying overnight. Having dined there myself, I can personally recommend it.
