The votes have been counted, the fizz poured and the 2026 Muddy Awards have officially wrapped up, rounding off another brilliant year Surrey’s most fabulous local businesses. After nine weeks of cheering them on – in partnership with our wonderful friends at Godstone Farm – the winners have finally had their moment.

And what a year it was. Across the Muddy counties, readers again turned out in force to support the independent businesses they love. Nationally, this year’s awards reached more than 11 million people, with over half a million votes cast.

Huge thanks to everyone who nominated, voted, shared and generally shouted about the businesses that make Surrey such a brilliant place to live. One of the greatest joys of Muddy is discovering these gems, supporting them and then introducing them to you.

Butt of course, a celebration was required.

The 2026 Muddy Awards Surrey winners’ party took place at the glorious Denbies Wine Estate near Dorking. Sunshine? Tick. Vineyard views? Tick. A bunch of happy winners and very good vibes? Also tick.

The restaurant at the Vineyard Hotel was the setting for our celebration, with floor-to-ceiling doors opening onto a terrace overlooking the vines. It was made for a summer gathering.

Guests raised a glass (or two) of Denbies’ delicious Whitedowns Sparkling Wine while enjoying a buffet lunch from the Denbies kitchens. And yes, for anyone wondering, The restaurant is open beyond special occasions too – for visitors as well as overnight guests.

And the goodie bags? Properly good. Guests headed home with lovely treats courtesy of Denbies Wine Estate and our awards sponsor Godstone Farm.
