Haven’t got an SAS-level strategy for Easter school holidays? Here’s the lowdown on the best things happening throughout Surrey – from Easter grottos and egg hunts to theatre and workshops.

DAYS OUT

Spring into Fun
■ Godstone Farm, Godstone ■ Sat 5 – Mon 21 April
At Godstone Farm children can meet the Easter Bunny in the Spring Grotto. But you’ll need to book asap – slots are limited to meet the fluffy-tailed big rabbit and they always sell out fast. While the Bunny might be the star of the day, there’s tonnes of other stuff going on too. Meet fluffy chics, spot the cute lambs, and discover more than 500 animals. There are also lots of Easter activities, including spring crafts, a story board walk and a quiz trail, alongside all the classic farmyard adventures you love, plus the fabulous dinosaur trail. And if the weather gets iffy – head into indoor playbarn.

Easter Classic Gathering
■ Brooklands Museum, Weybridge ■ Sat 19 April
A perfect spring-time family day out, with live-music and food stalls to accompany the collection of classic vehicles to look around and admire. If you have a pre-1995 vehicles your also invited to put yours on display. The event is included in normal admission.

Easter Eggstravaganza
■ Bocketts Farm, Fetcham ■ Sat 5 – Mon 21 April
Head down to Bocketts during the Easter Break for their yearly extravaganza. This year boasts the obligatory farm animal experiences, as well as meeting Easter Bunnies and Shepard’s. There will also be crafts and live shows, as well as many other activities for the family to enjoy. Check the site for booking details.

Easter Eggs-splorers
■ Hobbledown, Epsom ■ Sat 5 – Mon 21 April
Immerse yourself in the magic of the season with plenty of family-friendly activities including easter egg trails, archery, and visits from the easter bunny. There’s spring storytime, the Easter Hop and Bop where kids can sing and dance, and also and Easter parade.

Easter at Watts Gallery
■ Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, Compton ■ Sat 5 – Mon 21 April
Lots going on at Watts Gallery during the holidays. Discover the joy of Cicely Mary Barker and her magical world of the Flower Fairies, then take in the work of artists inspired by Charleston farmhouse in The Spirit of Charleston. Outdoors, there’s lots to see and do, Tree Fairy Trails to the Verey Playwood.

Tulip Festival
■ Hobbledown Heath, Hounslow ■ Mon 14 – Sun 27 April
New for spring 2025 is Hobbledown Heath’s Tulip Patch with 400,000 tulips spread across a huge meadow. The displays are expected to bloom from 14-27 April with waves of colour transforming the field and offering up fabulous photo opportunities. There’s plenty going on during the Easter holidays (4-21 April) as well including the opportunity to meet the Bunny in his Burrow, an Easter trail and an Easter Egg hunt.

Springtime Family Nature Walk and Minibeast Adventure
■ West Horsley Place, West Horsley ■ Thurs 17 April
Led by estate manager, Matt Link, this family-friendly event is perfect for nature lovers of all ages. You’ll head off on a 45-minute guided walk through woodlands, meadows and gardens, keeping your eyes peeled for seasonal wildlife which you can mark off on your Treasure Hunt Spotter Sheet. After the walk there’s a minibeast hunt. Armed with magnifying glasses and bug pots, you’ll search for insects. Ideal for primary school-aged kids. Not suitable for buggies, and wellies are recommended. Cost is £8.

Easter Eggvent
■ Crockford Bridge Farm, Addlestone ■ Thu 17 April – Sat 19 April
Go down the rabbit hole and join the fun at this quirky, Wonderland themed event. There’s an Easter fancy dress competition – with prizes each day for the best Wonderland or Easter costume. Think Mad Hatters, White Rabbits, Easter Bunnies, or anything wild and wacky. Children can take part in an Easter egg hunt with a chocolate prize for every child, meet the Queen of Hearts and burst her bubble. There will also be games and crafting activities plus an egg & spoon obstacle course. It’s ideal for kids up to 8 years old. Book a timed session: 10am-12noon; 12.30pm-2.30pm; or 3pm-5pm. Children £8.50; adults £4.50. On Good Friday (Fri 18 April) there will also be a pop-up vintage market.

Supertato
■ Kew Gardens, Richmond ■ Sat 5 – Mon 21 April
Based on the best-selling children’s books, Supertato and his vegetable entourage will be the basis for a variety of fun activities, including challenges and dress-up opportunities. Included with admission.

Rude Science
■ Epsom Playhouse ■ Tue 15 April
For any young Einstein’s with a naughty sense of humour, the Playhouse’s Rude Science show is perfect. The show combines hilarity with curriculum driven concepts and demonstrations. Tickets costs £17 for adults and £15 for under 16s. there is also a family discount available.

Free Easter Fun
■ Epsom Playhouse ■ Wed 16 April
Head down to Epsom with your little one for a day of Easter themed fun. There will be a boat load of Lego to enjoy, as well as board games and colouring stations. The session is free to drop-in to and open from 10am-2pm.

Easter at the Museum
■ Farnham Maltings ■ Sat 19 April
Farnham Malting’s Farm experience consists of meet and greets with little lambs and other farm animals, as well as wool themed activities like spinning and weaving. There will also be Easter crafts and a scavenger hunt on the table. Suitable for ages 3-11, sessions run throughout the day costing £6.50 for kids and £1.50 for adults.

Easter Holiday Aquasport activity camps
■ Mercers Country Park, Merstham ■ Mon 31 March – Fri 18 April
Get out on the water after the winter! No prior water sports experience is needed, the water sessions in Aquasport’s multi-activity camp focus on having fun on the water. Activities are on offer include kayaking, windsurfing, canoeing, paddle boarding and dinghy sailing. The camps are from 9.30-1.30pm, and for kids aged 8-13 years.

Bisley Young Shots Day
■ Bisley Shooting Ground, Woking ■ Mon 14 April
A fabulous way to introduce youngsters to clay shooting. The sport provides discipline and hand-eye coordination for kids along with the chance to get out into great outdoors. The Young Shots day is a fun and relaxed day for children aged 10 to 16 (no experience needed). They’ll get tuition from some of the country’s best instructor and take part in a friendly 20-target competition. Cost is £125 per person which includes breakfast and Elevenses, tuition, the use of a gun, clays and cartridges. It runs from 9.15am-1pm, booking is a must.

The Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt
■ Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey ■ Sat 29 March – Mon 21 April
Explore the grounds of Hampton Court Palace while you hunt for golden bunny statues. The trail will take around 90 minutes and if you find all the statues you win the chocolate version to enjoy. Suitable for ages 3-12, the trail is included in normal admission.

Easter Bunnies Trail
■ Painshill, Cobham ■ Sat 5 – Sun 27 April
Discover giant bunnies dotted across the grounds of Painsill in the Easter hunt trail. Open from 10am-4pm, the trail gives you an opportunity to get outdoors with the family and enjoy the outdoors. Tickets are included with general admission.

Easter Family Fun Day
■ Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford ■ Tue 8 April
Who doesn’t love a craft and creating day free of charge? Head down to Yvonne Arnaud’s Mill Studio for a day dedicated to family friendly Easter fun. There will also be a Spring themed singalong for anyone wanting to partake. Book now to secure your spot!

Minibeast Hunt
■ Gatton Park ■ Thurs 10 April
Little ones can get stuck into the search for all kinds of creepy crawlies across the woodland of Gatton Park. The session runs form 10-11.30am and costs £8.50 per child.

Easter Egg Hunt
■ Polesden Lacey, Dorking ■ Sat 19 March – Mon 21 April
Polesden’s Easter Hunt has a monstrous twist, with Grizwald and his friends back for another year. The trail consists of activities for the whole family, and completion will be rewarded with a chocolate surprise. The trail costs £3.50 to take part in and is open from 10am-3pm.

Easter Egg Hunt
■ Claremont Landscape Garden, Esher ■ Sat 19 March – Mon 21 April
Join the Mad Hatter at Claremont for an Easter Spectacular. With Mud Kitchens, lawn racing, as well many Wonderland activities to take part in, there’s something for the whole family. There will also be a chocolate treat to enjoy at the end of the trail (important incentive). Costing £3.50 to take part in, the trail is open from 10am-4pm.

Egg rolling at Box Hill
■ Box Hill, Tadworth ■ Fri 18 – Mon 21 April
Box Hill invites little ones to bring their very own decorated egg to roll down the iconic hill. There will be a prize for best decorated! Happening throughout the day, check timings on the site. Normal admission applies.

Flower Fairies™: The Magical World of Cicely Mary Barker
■ Watts Gallery Artists’ Village, Compton ■ Tues 22 Oct – 27 April 2025
Step into the enchanting world of Cicely Mary Barker, the creator of the much-loved Flower Fairies, in this playful, family-friendly exhibition this October half term. Celebrating the life of an extraordinary artist, author and illustrator, the exhibition explores Cicely’s journey as an artist – from her childhood sketches to postcard designs and the illustrated books she created later in life. It’s an interactive exhibition with lots of hands-on activities for children. The exhibition is included in general admission.

Hairspray The Musical

Join Tracy Turnblad and her singing and dancing entourage in this hit musical. This show tells the story of a teen outsider breaking into the tv scene and breaking down barriers to ensure equality for all. Recommended for ages 7+. Tickets are available from £28.

Sprung

After spending the morning planting seeds, Nell happens upon a bunny intent on joining her pursuit, and there’s no telling what fun will ensue. For ages 18 months to 3 years, the show is specially created for babies and toddlers to engage and create a sensory space. Tickets available from £13.50, with the show beginnings at 9.30am.

A Big Egg
■ Camberley Theatre ■ Sat 12 April
Set on Easter morning itself, with siblings Jack and Molly set with the task of eating a real egg before their mum allows them to feast on the chocolate ones. The two go on the hunt for an egg big enough to feed them both, meetings a host of creatures on their way. Tickets cost £12 each, with family discounts available.

Mess!

Princess Olive is on pursuit of the Tidy Up Troll to help her to clean her room before the big party, join in an adventure that boasts fun music and magic! Tickets are available from £12.50,

Puss in Boots

A new and improved version of the original tale is being bought to Epsom playhouse, following the story of a magical cat and his adventures in the helping his friend the prince. Recommended for ages 2-14, tickets cost £15 for adults and £13 for under 16s.

Una Coello Guitar Girl
■ Rose Theatre, Kingston Upon Thames ■ Thurs 17 April
Head down to the Rose Theatre for a morning of song and dance, suitable for ages 0-5 years. Tickets cost £12 with siblings getting in half price. The session runs from 10.05am.

Dinosaur World Live
■ Rose Theatre, Kingston Upon Thames ■ Wed 9 – Sun 13 April
Let the little ones indulge in all their prehistoric fantasies, with Dinosaur World bringing to life some of the most impressive and roarsome creatures. There will also be a meet and greet afterwards for any superfans. Recommended for ages 3+, tickets are available from £12.

Pinocchio Easter Panto

Panto is back in business for a handful of special Easter Shows. Pinocchio follows the classic story of a wooden puppet venturing out of his father’s workshop in the hopes of becomes a real boy, now with all the necessary panto pizzaz. Tickets from £23.25.

WORKSHOPS

Grimm Tales Drama Workshop
■ Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford ■ Tue 15 April
For any little ones with a spark for performance, the Yvonne Arnaud Fairy-tale workshop is perfect to hone those skills. Little ones will be able to work to bring to life a chosen story, and include games, crafts, and improv work. The session costs £40 per child and runs from 10am – 3pm, recommended for ages 8-11.

Twirling Toddlers
■ Richmond Theatre ■ Fri 4 April
For ages 2-4, this workshop will help your little ones explore movement through music and storytelling. Tickets for the 30-minute class cost £13.50 and the session lasts from 10.30-11am.

Play in a Day: Fairy Tales
■ Farnham Maltings ■ Mon 14 April
Lasting from 10am-4pm, this session will consist of drama fuelled fun and activities, where little ones will endeavour to create a play in the day long workshop, inspired by fairy tales and improv activities.

The Little Mermaid Jr.
■ The Electric Theatre, Guildford ■ Mon 14 – Thurs 17 April
This 4-day long drama camp will lead your little ones through creating their very own play, showcasing the tale of The Little Mermaid. The sessions run from 10am-5pm, with the show taking place at 6pm on Thursday. Suitable for ages 5-15, the camp costs £181 for the 4 days, with sibling discounts available.

Children’s Lino-Printing Workshop

For any creatives among you, Horton’s lino workshop provides a unique mode of creations for children, learning the traditional method by tutor Mel Sunderland. The workshops costs £12 per child and is for ages 7+.

CAMPS

WildCats Holiday Camps
■ Caterham School and Sports Centre, Caterham ■ Thurs 3 – Thurs 17 April, weekdays
WildCats offer a choice of fun camps for kids including specialist camps, multi- activity and sport specific. The themed camps include app development, coding and robotics, AI camp, musical theatre, woodland adventure, swim, hockey, netball, soccer, art, lacrosse, and multi-sports. Costs and times vary, depending on the camp. But there is the option for early drop-offf at 8am and late pick-up at 6pm.

Multi-sports course
■ Epsom College, Epsom ■ Mon 7 – Thurs 10 April
In this four-day camp for boys and girls aged 8 to 13, kids will take part in a range of sporting activities including swimming, athletics, football, squash, tennis, rounders, table tennis, basketball and dodgeball. All sports are delivered by Epsom College coaches using the school’s excellent sporting facilities.
The day runs from 10am-4pm. Refreshments are included throughout the day, including a three-course lunch. Cost is £280.

Barfield Three Peaks Holiday Camps
■ Barfield Prep School, Farnham ■ Thurs 3 – Fri 4 April; Mon 7 – Fri 11 April; Mon 14 – Thurs 17 April; Tues 22 – Wed 23 April
The camps at Barfield Prep are open to all (students and non-students) aged from Reception to Year 8. It’s all about fun and the outdpprs – with a variety of activities on offer from high ropes and climbing to quad biking and archery. The camps run from 9am to 4pm with free early drop-off from 8.30am. Camps cost £190 per week. Late pick-up is available until 6pm, for an additional fee.

RGS Sports Camps – hockey and football
■ RGS Hartswood Sports Ground, Reigate ■ Thurs 3 & Fri 4 April (football); Mon 7 * Tues 8 April (hockey)
Reigate Grammar School offers sports camps for both hockey and football fans. The school’s head of football, Quentin Hoad runs the football camps alongside a team of expert coaches. They’re open to boys and girls of all abilities aged 9-13. The aim to have fun and develop skills. RGS’s head of hockey, Robert Field, runs the hockey camp with a team of coaches, many of them senior international hockey players. The camps include skills development and gameplay, and also cater to goal keepers, with specialist GK sessions. They’re open to children from age 8+. Cost is £40 per day.
