<p>The younger sibling of the original <a href="https://surrey.muddystilettos.co.uk/little-black-book/directory/hobbledown-epsom-hounslow/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hobbledown adventure park</a> in Epsom, Hobbledown Heath offers more of what we love: fantasy, adventure and loads of fun.</p>



<p>It still very shiny and new, opening in summer 2022. And like Hobbledown Epsom it&#8217;s based on the charming children&#8217;s adventure books written by Angela Kecojevic.</p>



<p>Set across 100 acres of beautiful woodlands and meadows on the edge of Hounslow, it&#8217;s just a few miles from the M25, the A4 and Heathrow Airport. If you&#8217;re a fan of low-flying aircraft &#8211; you&#8217;ll see plenty of those too on a day out at Hobbledown Heath.</p>



<p>There&#8217;s a large car park (with space for 600 cars, including a handy 35 charging points for electric cars). Costs are £1 per hour with 30 minutes free for those doing as swoop in and out to drop off or pick up.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s lots here to see and do &#8211; so give yourself plenty of time. You&#8217;ll easily fill an entire day. </p>



<p>The park includes four themed villages called Buckbridge Market, Cribble Creek, Wilderness Wood and The Mining Village. Each one is a charming adventure playground with incredible thought and detail offering plenty of climbing and crawling opportunities, slides, tunnels and water play. I had six-year old Summer (and her mum Julia) in tow and she was in her element.</p>



<p>There’s a wide collection of farm and zoo animals plus the Coda Falconry Centre which houses the birds of prey and offers flying demonstrations, meet and greets, your own face-to-face experiences. Hobbledown characters &#8211; called Hobblers &#8211; are also seen throughout the park.</p>



<p>There are also jumping pillows, water pillows and zorbing, plus the Gripped Net Park and a sprawling indoor soft play area. And for thrill seekers Gripped London offers zip lining, high ropes and speed slides. </p>



<p>It sounds a lot, right? But the park is manageable in size and easy to get around with accessible pathways. </p>

<p>Animal lovers, you&#8217;ve hit the jackpot at Hobbledown Heath. There&#8217;s so much cuteness here &#8211; from exotic birds and meerkats to ponies, goats, alpacas and yaks. Hands down our favourites were the lemurs. We&#8217;d booked into the Meet the Lemurs experience (£30 per person) which meant we got to see them up close and help with feeding time. I could have smuggled one into my handbag, they were so cute! (But I wouldn&#8217;t, obvs!)</p>



<p>We learned from Kayleigh, their keeper, that Lemurs are curious little creatures who love grapes and sweet potato. Mostly they have bright yellow eyes &#8211; apart from the extra special Shorty at Hobbledown who has brown eyes. Yes, we all fell in love with Shorty &#8211; and we think he was also quite partial to us as well. Nothing to do with the sweet potato and grapes, of course!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-action-amp-adventure">ACTION &amp; ADVENTURE</h2>

<p>There&#8217;s plenty of active fun to be had as well &#8211; from water pillows, jumping pillows and zorbing to the Gripped Net Park and a sprawling indoor soft play area. </p>



<p>The jumping pillows were a big hit with Summer &#8211; and many other kids too &#8211; and on a hot, sunny day the water pillows must also be popular. </p>



<p>We booked a turn at the Net Park (£5 per person), a series of interconnected trampolining nets set high up in the treetops. And &#8211; even better &#8211; we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves during our 30 minute session which meant that even I was brave enough to give it a go!</p>



<p>A taut net ramp leads you to the first level, which then connects via net tunnels  to a series of bouncy nets, with slides bringing you safely back to earth. Summer was up and down like a yo-yo, bouncing all over the place having huge fun. I made my way up, found a nice spot to bounce and pretty much stayed put! It seems my adrenaline-junky days are behind me.</p>



<p>A magical world of adventure continues in the Great Barn, where you&#8217;ll find a massive indoor play arenas with more nets nets and towers to climb, tunnels to wiggle through and slides to scoot down. There’s also a dedicated toddler area for under 3s, plus a café where grown-ups can sit and have a coffee or bite to eat.</p>

<p>The main café is the Hobnosh bar, which is inside the Great Barn. The menu includes a range of choices from fresh pizzas and pasta pots to chicken or fish goujons with fries, jacket potatoes and a range of salads and sandwiches. The menu include halal and vegetarian options. Prices range from £2.95 for fries to £11.50 for a large pizza. Salads are around £8. Kids&#8217; meals are £5 to £6.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-anything-else">ANYTHING ELSE?</h2>

<p>Hobbledown Heath puts on shed loads of seasonal activities throughout the year including at half-term holidays, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. <p>It&#8217;s also a great spot to host a <a href="https://www.hobbledown.com/hounslow/parties-at-hobbledown-heath/birthday-parties/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">birthday party</a>. There are several dedicated party spaces upstairs in the Great Barn and several party options ranging from the classic party (from £24 per child) to the teddy bear picnic party (from £40 per child). </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-muddy-verdict">THE MUDDY VERDICT</h2>

<p><strong>Good for:</strong> Families and kids! It&#8217;s a wonderful day out &#8211; all year round &#8211; with plenty to spark children&#8217;s imaginations both indoors and out. Those who like a bit of action and adventure will find it at Hobbledown Heath, and families with animal lovers will also be in their element.</p>



<p><strong>Not for:</strong> While the zip-trekking and high ropes will thrill teenagers, they may feel they&#8217;re a bit too cool for some of the other more mystical parts of Hobbledown Heath. An up-close encounter with those cute lemurs though will no doubt thaw any fickle teen’s heart.</p>



<p><strong>The damage:</strong> Anytime day tickets are from £16 to £20 per person (under 2 are free). The Afternoon Saver tickets with entry from 3.30pm are from £14 to £16. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Hobbledown Heath offer tickets for under 5s and one adult for £12. </p>
