<p>A host of Hollywood A-listers have been seen swanning around Surrey &#8211; here to film the new Guy Ritchie film called <em>Wife and Dog</em>. Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, James Norton, Pip Torrens, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Ritchie himself were spotted this week (Thurs 13 Feb) at Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher. <em>Wife and Dog</em> is aristocratic adventure about the colourful, back-stabbing world of the British upper classes. It&#8217;s said to be in a similar vein as Ritchie&#8217;s 2019 hit film <em>The Gentlemen</em>. Cumberbatch and Pike lead the ensemble cast, which also includes Paddy Considine and Cosmo Jarvis. Horse trainer Jamie Snowden also has a role in the film. The screenplay is written by Ritchie, who also produces alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg. <p>Surrey resident and England rugby star, Chris Robshaw and his classical singer wife, Camilla Kerslake are appearing in the latest episode of TV’s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/helpmyhouseishaunted" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Help My House is Haunted!</a> The former Harlequins captain and his family live in a 15th century mansion in Limpsfield which was apparently connected to a historic tragic drowning and an evil coachman. <p>We love an excuse to eat so luckily we&#8217;ve spotted a newbie restaurant to try out. Sri Lanken restaurant <a href="https://madoldoova.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Madol Doova</a> has just opened on the former site of El Nido on Manor Road, Wallington. The new eatery is by Tharanga Ampegama&nbsp;(aka Chef T), who opened the doors in early February. Expect an authentic menu, including a wide choice of plant-based options, and a smashing selection of cocktails. Can’t wait to try!</p>

<p>It&#8217;s taken about a year, but finally good news comes our way! The new Park Hub will open this month in Oxted’s Master Park. The former cricket pavilion will now be a resource for the whole community as well as as base for local sports. The structure will house a new café, clubs, fitness, wellbeing sessions and tutoring. <p>Don’t miss savouring the exquisite menus from Michelin-trained chef Guillaume Gillan for two nights this February and March at Fego restaurant in Banstead. The six-course Franco-Mexican or Japanese feast is hosted by <a href="https://tableandcandle.london/franco-japanese-banstead" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Table &amp; Candle</a> with optional wine pairings. It is available on Sat 22 and Sun 23 February and Fri 28 and Sun 29 March. Booking is essential.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-crown-horsell">The Crown, Horsell</h2>



<p>And it’s congratulations to the landlords of The Crown in Horsell. The traditional boozer near Woking was crowned in a list of the best pubs&nbsp;in each county by&nbsp;<em>The Telegraph</em>. The newspaper  praised it as a “proper pub with a real fire and attractive been garden.” There has been a pub on the site since at least 1785, and its current iteration was built in 1877 after a fire in the thatched roof destroyed the original. The venue also&nbsp;holds quiz nights&nbsp;every Wednesday, an ale festival in June each year. We’ll drink to that!</p>
