<p>Following four months of mega renovations, The Prince of Wales is set to open its doors again on 7 December. The new look pub &#8211; sister pub to the <a href="https://surrey.muddystilettos.co.uk/eat-out/pubs-inns/review-the-watermill-dorking/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Watermill</a> in Dorking &#8211; will boast a 48-seater orangery, stylish interiors and garden including an outdoor bar, firepits, heaters and blankets for the winter months. Cosy! Nestled on West End Green, the 19th-century building has been a public house for 140 years and the restoration has been focused on sympathetically restoring original features alongside new modern finishes. So expect original open fireplaces and a stunning green enamel lava stone bar top, whilst a brand-new private dining room for up to 10 guests, will be the perfect destination for Christmas parties. </p>

<p>Hot news! Just opened in Kingston within family-owned department store Fenwick is Mediterranean-inspired tapas restaurant, Fuego by Fenwick. As one of the store’s own restaurant concepts, it&#8217;s the brand&#8217;s 4th site to launch following openings in Newcastle, Brent Cross and Bracknell. The new restaurant offers a selection of all-day tapas, sharing charcuterie, cheese boards, traditional tortillas and stone-baked Napoli-style, sourdough pizzas. There’s also a chic sit-up champagne and cocktail bar so you can indulge yourself after a little retail therapy.</p>

<p>One of Surrey&#8217;s most exclusive hotels has announced it will open a ‘village’ within its extensive grounds. Beaverbrook will launch Mickleham Village in December nestled within the woodlands of the estate with 21 guest rooms, housed across a collection of 10 cottages, as well as a new restaurant and events space. The secluded spot within a walled oasis of 55 acres will offer a luxe rural adventure, with five star style. The restaurant is named after the famous Victorian culinary goddess Mrs Beeton and will serve classically British fare, alongside an elegant wine list. The menu, prepared using fresh and local produce, will bring a new culinary style to the estate, whilst maintaining the creative flare and exquisite flavour be expected from a Beaverbrook kitchen. Can&#8217;t wait!</p>

<p>A much loved pub in Ripley in a desirable location with lovely nearby walks, is undergoing a huge transformation, and is set to reopen at the end of November, just in time for the Christmas festivities! After changing hands to local licensee Ollie Bailey, (who also runs The Running Mare in Cobham, Surrey), The Seven Stars is having £265k injected into it to give it a new lease of life. Ollie is planning a cosy family-friendly traditional pub that will welcome dogs. The pub will be a strong community hub, with monthly quiz nights and regular live music plus welcoming open fire. <p>Bringing their cool interiors to Surrey, British furniture maker Arlo &amp; Jacob opened last month in Guildford. With a range of stylish sofas, chairs, footstools, and rugs, made to last, each piece is crafted by one pair of hands in Nottinghamshire, (that owners, Mark and Julie Smith call home.) With showrooms across the country they are already in London, Bristol, Marlow, Ely, Wilmslow and Harrogate, so check them out.</p>

<p>Meanwhile in Woking more interiors news with the another interiors gem opening last month. The Danish retail store Søstrene Grene is an exciting new addition to Victoria Place bringing “hygge” to the Surrey shopping centre. The word “hygge”, a Nordic term, means to bring cosy and comfy vibes to your home and the 4,673 sq feet store sells lovely homeware items, kitchenware, hobby bits, party decs, toys and more to do exactly that! It can be found at 9, Henry Plaza, Victoria Place. </p>

<p>A new board game café and console repair shop is set to open on Caterham&nbsp;High Street in late November to bring a “proper 80s arcade experience” to the town. The venue will offer a selection of games with up to 50 household favourites including Mousetrap, Kerplunk &amp; Monopoly, while they also plan to sell, repair, and trade in retro consoles. The onsite café will serve cakes and Volcano Coffee with a token-based arcade area. Opening soon, keep an eye on their socials for details!</p>

<p>The New Victoria Theatre are celebrating this month after being awarded Best Theatre at the Red Kite Days Surrey Awards 2023. With thousands of votes cast the family venue, (which this Christmas is hosting <em>Peter Pan</em> with the king of ballroom&nbsp;Anton du Beke,)&nbsp;was thrilled to take the top spot.</p>

<p>But it’s sad news for Michelin star and 3x AA rosette restaurant The Clock House in Ripley. The top-end culinary spot has announced it will be closing its doors after dinner service on 23 December. After 20 years trading, the decision to close hasn’t been taken lightly. But the current economy, conditions and staff shortages have taken their toll on its financial viability.
