<p>Popular Thai restaurant chain <a href="https://www.gigglingsquid.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Giggling Squid</a> has confirmed plans to open a new site in&nbsp;Cobham. The new eatery will be the brand’s sixth in Surrey, with others already popular in&nbsp;Esher,&nbsp;Farnham,&nbsp;Guildford,&nbsp;Reigate, and&nbsp;Weybridge. Serving their trademark fresh Thai cuisine at lunch and dinner they also offer takeaway. No exact date has been set for opening but is expected early 2025.</p>

<p>A new fitness-focused café has opened in at 5 Downing Street, Farnham replacing the old Electric Cycle Coffee shop.  <a href="https://josneurocafe.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jo’s Neuro Café </a>wants to appeal to all the usual customers but also cater for fitness fanatics. After being in the catering industry for many years and running one of the biggest M&amp;S cafés in London, owner Jo believes she offers something different &#8211; in addition to cakes and toasties, soul bowls are soon to be added to the menu.</p>

<p>Hot news and gossip incoming! Get ready to feel the sand between your toes without leaving Surrey! From 1 to 28 August, <a href="https://centraleandwhitgift.co.uk/whats-on/costa-del-croydon-a-free-seaside-escape-in-the-heart-of-the-city/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Costa Del Croydon</a> will transform the top floor of shopping centre Centrale’s multi-storey car park into an urban beach paradise, offering seaside fun and city vibes right in the heart of Croydon. Families can look forward to  activities for all ages; a giant sandpit, bungee trampolines, water splash zone and competitive games like beach bingo, hook-a-duck, mini Go Karts, and table tennis. There will also be pop-up food stalls, dance workshops, arts &amp; crafts and performances from the Croydon Steel Orchestra. The beach is free to attend with walk-in space and pre-booked tickets available but fees apply for some activities.</p>

<p>Exciting news and gossip reaches our ears. The historic <a href="https://www.thewilliamivpub.com/">William IV</a> pub in Albury has finally re-opened much to the delight of regulars and foodies alike. The 16th century establishment located in the beautiful countryside is now under new owners, locals David and Lisa Lubbock. Their intention is to make the pub the heart of the local community and have Michelin-starred chef Luke Spier on board. With an open-fire grill and wood fire oven the menu has been devised around the fire so they plan to offer grilled meats using unusual breeds. They have also added an additional dining room, plus a private function room that can sit up to 12 for dinner.</p>

<p>Another Michelin-star chef is due to work in Surrey with the opening of a new restaurant in Esher towards the end of this month. Called Starling, the restaurant will open on Esher High Street. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/beardymanchef/?hl=en">Nick Beardshaw</a>, who has worked with celebrity chef Tom Kerridge for 14 years is set to break away and open a new spot. Originally from Somerset the chef who rose to fame in 2023 after starring in&nbsp;BBC’s <em>Great British Menu</em>, revealed there would be around 40 seats, with counter chairs available overlooking the kitchen and bar. The décor will take inspiration from the natural surroundings with sunny pale colours and earthy, woody tones with golden features. </p>

<p>The popular coffee shop at Redhill aerodrome has reopened with a new look and name. Formerly 1930s-themed <em>Pilot’s Hub</em> the new-look café has been refurbished and is now called <a href="https://www.facebook.com/people/Hangar-9-Cafe/61560777043714/?paipv=0&amp;eav=AfYY46-b2JG8aYTiIFrG1K28kwJVPcX04zuDTtPyrPaPIz1Mw6HE5u2EXSn2qVHb5vE&amp;_rdr" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hangar 9.</a> It’s the perfect spot to take airplane-mad kids to watch the take-offs and landings during the summer holidays!</p>
