Gone are the days of muddy fields and plastic cups &#8211; festivals now are slick, full-on events with something for every age and interest. From gourmet food to Grammy-winning artists, live DJs to singalong classics, it’s all about the music, the vibes, and a good excuse to let your hair down. Lanyards on… let’s do this!</p>

<p><strong>When:</strong> until Sat 20 June<br><strong>Where: </strong>Hampton Court Palace, Hampton Court<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Experience some of the world’s biggest music stars as they take to the Base Court stage, set within the stunning Tudor courtyard of Henry VIII’s majestic residence. With a history spanning 28 years, this concert series is a true summer institution. Soak up the atmosphere in the breathtaking East Front Gardens with a pre-show picnic or your own homemade treats, or opt for a more luxurious experience with pre-concert dining in Henry VIII’s State Apartments. Confirmed artists include David Gray, Pete Tong, Nile Rodgers and Chic, OMD, The Stranglers, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, with more to be announced. Tickets sell out fast, so book early for an unforgettable evening of iconic hits and incredible setting.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-guildfest-guildford"><a href="https://www.guilfest.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">GuildFest</a>, Guildford</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Sat 4 &#8211; Sun 5 July<br><strong>Where:</strong> Stoke Park, Guildford<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> GuildFest is a lively, family-friendly festival in the heart of Guildford, set in Stoke Park. Spread across seven stages, the lineup mixes established rock, pop, and indie acts, with confirmed names including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Rudimental, The Proclaimers, and Kid Creole and the Coconuts. The festival also features top-notch tribute performances, like The Smyths and Bob Marley Revival, for those who love a familiar classic live. Beyond the music, enjoy artisan food stalls, craft vendors, and plenty of activities for kids, making it a perfect weekend for families, friends, and festival-goers of all ages.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-sound-bites-reigate"><a href="https://www.sound-bites.co.uk/events/reigate" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sound Bites</a>, Reigate</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Fri 10 Jul &#8211; Sun 12 Jul<br><strong>Where:</strong> Priory Park, Reigate<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> From the team behind the popular Pub in the Park, Sound Bites Festival brings big flavour and even bigger energy to Priory Park. While the name is changing, the spirit remains the same: Sound Bites will combine food and drink experiences with more music, more acts, and more energy across multiple stages. Over the weekend, enjoy live-fire cooking, chef demos, street-food heroes, craft drinks, and tasting sessions. As the sun sets, headline acts and feel-good DJs take over, alongside special performances including Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson presenting The Fabulous Adjustable Band with guests Gary Stringer (Reef), Natasha Hamilton (Atomic Kitten), Simon Fowler (Ocean Colour Scene), and more to be announced. The result is a lively, open-air celebration of food, drink, and music, perfect for friends, families, and festival-goers alike.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-boogietown-2026-walton-on-thames"><a href="https://boogietown.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Boogietown 2026</a>, Walton-on-Thames</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Sat 11 July<br><strong>Where:</strong> Apps Court Farm, Walton-on-Thames<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Boogietown 2026 is a one-day celebration of funk, soul, and disco, bringing sunshine, singalongs, and feel-good festival energy to the stage. Spread across three stages, the lineup features iconic artists including Gloria Gaynor, Shalamar, Gabrielle, Soul II Soul, Maxi Priest, Boney M, and more. Expect non-stop anthems, dancing, and an infectious party vibe that keeps the energy high all day, making it the perfect day out for fans of classic grooves and festival fun alike.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-ministry-of-sound-classical-esher"><strong><br></strong><a href="https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/sandown/events-tickets/ministry-of-sound-classical/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ministry of Sound Classical</a>, Esher</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Fri 24 July<br><strong>Where:</strong> Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Not a music festival as such, but certainly there&#8217;s a laid-back vibe to these  summer alfresco gigs at Sandown Park. Get ready for a night of pure energy as Ministry of Sound comes to Sandown Park, joined by very special guest Judge Jules. This isn’t your average DJ set &#8211; dance anthems from Darude, Faithless, Fatboy Slim, and Dario G are reimagined by a full 30-piece orchestra, blending classical mastery with pulsating beats, lights, and spectacular sound. Enjoy the runners and riders competing before&nbsp;the stage is set for the music stars. </p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-billy-ocean-esher"><a href="https://www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/sandown/events-tickets/billy-ocean/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Billy Ocean</a>, Esher</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Wed 29 July<br><strong>Where:</strong> Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> Another live music set at Sandown Park &#8211; this time it&#8217;s Billy Ocean, bringing a set of classics including “Caribbean Queen” and “When the Going Gets Tough.” Think smooth soul, familiar singalongs, and plenty of feel-good vibes. Pair the music with some evening racing, a bite to eat, and a drink in hand, and you’ve got a perfectly easy-going summer night out &#8211; no dress code required, just bring your good mood and maybe your dancing shoes.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-kew-the-music-kew"><strong><a href="http://www.kewthemusic.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kew the Music</a></strong>, Kew</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> July 2026<br><strong>Where:</strong> Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew<br><strong>What to expect:</strong> This week-long series of summer picnic concerts brings international indie, rock, and pop artists to Kew Gardens’ open-air stage. Pack a blanket, some snacks, and maybe a bottle of something chilled, then settle in for music under the summer sky. In 2025, revellers enjoyed Craig David, The Human League, UB40, Alison Moyet, and more, and 2026 promises even bigger names, with The Gypsy Kings tipped for the line-up. With the beautiful gardens as your backdrop, it’s all about relaxing, soaking up the tunes, and enjoying a proper summer evening out.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-feastyfest-sutton"><a href="https://feastyfest.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FeastyFest</a>, Sutton</h3>



<p><strong>When:</strong> Sat 12 and Sun 13 Sept<br><strong>Where: </strong>Cheam Park, Sutton<br>FeastyFest is a weekend of food, drink, music, and family fun in Cheam Park. There’s a dedicated kids’ zone, local street food vendors, and artisan bars, plus talks and tastings for the grown-ups. The eclectic music line-up includes Ellie Sax headlining, alongside a mix of tribute acts covering everyone from The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, and P!nk. If that’s not enough, a secret stage of top DJs keeps the party going long after the main acts finish. Pack a picnic or grab something tasty on-site &#8211; it’s a proper festival for all ages.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-gone-but-not-forgotten"><em>Gone but not forgotten</em></h2>

<p><strong>When:</strong> Fri 29 &#8211; Sat 30 May<br><strong>Where:</strong> Merrist Wood College, Worplesdon<br><strong>What to expect</strong>: Shynefest in Guildford is a brilliantly feel-good, family-friendly festival with a strong local following. What began life as founder Shyne Adcock’s 40th birthday party has grown into a much-loved two-day event that still keeps its laid-back, welcoming vibe.</p>



<p>The line-up is as eclectic as it gets, mixing original indie artists with crowd-pleasing tribute acts. For 2026, expect everything from AC/DC, Arctic Monkeys and ABBA tributes to Bandit Sound (bringing South London rap-rock with punk and ska energy) and Guildford’s own Alexander McKay, who’s been flying the flag for British country on stages across the globe.</p>



<p>It’s not just about the music, either. Think craft and food stalls, plus plenty to keep little ones entertained, from football fun to circus skills. You can even make a weekend of it with camping or glamping options if you fancy leaning fully into the festival vibe.</p>



<p>Better still, it’s all for a good cause, with funds raised going to Woking &amp; Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care – so you can party with purpose.</p>
