We love a good snoop around a posh gaff on Muddy - and this one's among the most stunning I've seen for a while.
To remind anyone who doesn’t know our nosey little game, we show you the property, tell you the best bits about it, and then you guess the price and the closest to the asking price wins £10,000. Sort of. Nearly. OK, I’m lying about this bit. But think of the glory!
Let’s get started with a ‘WOWSER’ at this double-fronted cottage just out of Old Oxted. And while she’s pretty as a picture on the outside, just you wait till we open that door and go inside. Hall Hill House is thought to date back to the 1830s, and with later additions and updates, it’s a gorgeous melding of period character and modern living.
First thing to know about Hall Hill House, is that you won’t be at a loss for space. With seven bedrooms, three reception rooms plus and upstairs games room, a big kitchen / diner, a separate study and whopper of an entrance hall – the phrase big and beautiful comes to mind. And all of this is sitting on 1.1 acres of gardens and grounds, that have views out over the North Downs like this.
You’d never tire of that view – although you may need to invest in a ride-on lawnmower (or a gardener) to keep those lawns in tip top shape.
Inside, you come straight into an enormous reception hall which melds into a library area. There’s a 31ft long drawing room off to your right, with stunning period features including a pair of bay windows with French doors that open onto the south-facing gardens and a marble fireplace. *sigh* And I’m pretty in love with the furniture too.
Off to the left through the library, you’ll come to the kitchen / diner, which has recently been refitted with this stunning new kitchen. There are also French doors leading out onto a patio. Through the kitchen there’s the dining room and a family room, as well as the ever-practical utility.
Upstairs, be prepared do be dazzled by even more space. One of the bedrooms has its own dressing room, and scope to turn one of the existing bedrooms into an ensuite, which would create a truly stunning master suite. There are six other bedrooms, as well as a large games room.
Outside, gardens surround the property on three sides, and there’s also a double garage and a private forecourt with a parking area to the side of the house.
So there you have it. There’s no doubt this baby is a stunner – and unless I beat you to it, she’s up for sale But you don’t need to be looking for a new house to play my game, so put a fair asking price in your head – got one? – and now…. see how close you got.
