VENUES

WARREN HOUSE, Kingston-upon-Thames

Sitting on 4 acres beautiful landscaped gardens in the grounds of the exclusive Coombe Estate, Warren House is a Grade II listed Victorian manor with a timeless elegance that makes it perfect for a wedding. Inside it’s all authentic original fireplaces, double-height ceilings and bright airy spaces. There are several different rooms where you can hold reception drinks and a wedding breakfast. And the venue also has 46 bedrooms, so there’s plenty of space for the bridal party to stay.

LANGSHOTT MANOR, Horley

We’ve struck ‘I do’ gold. Going for modern English romance and looking for an intimate, chic wedding venue that oozes style with lush interiors and is surrounded by stunning countryside? Hello Langshott Manor. This pretty 16th-Century manor house is set amongst beautifully manicured gardens, with a bell tower and water-filled moat. The Mulberry Suite can accommodate up to 60 guests, and does ‘intimate’ very well, or if you want things even cosier try the wood-pannelled Boardroom for up to 22 people. There are also boutique rooms.

THE RUNNYMEDE ON THAMES, Egham

If it’s the romance of a riverside setting you’re after, The Runnymede-on-Thames has this and more. You can arrive via a private boat – and then everything you could want for your wedding day is all in this one location including a luxury spa, and accommodation for the bridal party and guests. The Grand Union Suite is licensed for up to 140 people for a civil ceremony and accommodates up to 250 for the wedding reception. Or for something more intimate there’s the Riverside Suite, licensed for 70 people for a civil ceremony and up 80 people for a buffet dinner or 100 for a sit-down meal with dancing. The hotel has its own team of wedding planners to help arrange your day.

THE PLOUGH INN, Coldharbour

If you’re planning a small wedding and want something intimate and rustic for your reception, the Barn at the Plough Inn in the pretty village of Coldharbour would make a great venue. It has an open fire for winter weddings, or in the summer the doors open onto the pub’s country cottage gardens. The pub also offers accommodation, with six boutique rooms – so there’s space for the bride and groom and wedding party.

GREAT FOSTERS, Egham

The exquisite Tudor mansion house at Great Fosters certainly has wedding wow factor. Set amongst 50 acres of stunning gardens and parkland, Great Fosters it’s well positioned just outside of Greater London and just a 20 minute whizz to London Heathrow . With just one wedding each day, you can exchange or renew your vows in the majestic surroundings of The Orangery, host reception drinks in the Painted Hall and celebrate your wedding breakfast with loved ones in the Tithe Barn. They offer a range of flexible packages.

If you want a romantic wedding amongst beautiful grapevines, then you can’t go past England’s biggest wine estate in the heart of the Surrey Hills. Set on 265 acres of vineyards with stunning views out over the vines, Box Hill and the North Downs, Denbies has everything the loved-up couple might want for their wedding day. There’s a choice of three rooms or a pretty outdoor courtyard for the ceremony. Move into the candle-lit wine cellar for reception drinks, before a wedding breakfast in either the Conservatory Atrium (250 guests) or the Garden Room (up to 70 guests). Or, for a more intimate affair The Gallery Restaurant – which has stunning views – can seat between 30 and 60 guests. And there’s no need to leave the venue when the party’s over – there’s accommodation at Denbies Vineyard Hotel. As you’d expect from a wedding specialist, Denbies has a specialist wedding team to help with the planning.

BARNETT HILL, Wonersh

Slightly off-radar and all the better for it, Barnett Hill is a swoony Queen Anne style mansion oozing style and elegance. If it’s intimate you’re after, The Drawing Room is a gorgeous space looking out over the gardens with space for 40 guests, or if you’re booking ahead and want a bigger space the Garden Suite can accommodate up to 80. There’s an emphasis on elegant grandeur and period features aplenty – big stone fireplaces, wood panelling, sweeping staircases, leaded glass windows and more. Plus there are plenty of rooms, too, for the the wedding party and guests.

THE RUNNING HORSES, Mickleham

For a rustic country style wedding, The Running Horses is a brilliant Surrey venue. The private wood-panelled dining room, just off the pub’s main dining room, can accommodate 25 people – so it also happens to be perfect for an intimate affair.
