Hold onto your tiaras, Woking! Panto is back at the New Victoria Theatre — bigger, bolder, and glitzier than ever. This year it’s <a href="https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/snow-white-and-the-seven-dwarfs-pantomime/new-victoria-theatre/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs</a> a grand-scale, glitter-soaked extravaganza that delivers on every level.



With the irrepressible Lesley Joseph serving up wickedly good fun, Aaron James turning on the charm, and Rob Rinder lighting up the stage, this star-studded panto knows exactly how to keep a crowd entertained. Add in lavish sets, glitter-packed costumes, slick special effects and a steady stream of jokes and slapstick, and you’ve got a great night out.



Snow White sticks close to the classic tale, but with a dollop of panto chaos &#8211; and a touch of schmaltz.

Lesley Joseph dazzles as the wicked Queen Dragonella, hell-bent on being the fairest in the land and more than ready to sink her cougar claws into Prince William of Westfield (Scott Maurice). She&#8217;s everything you want in a panto star &#8211; outrageously funny, fabulously over-the-top, and with comic timing so sharp it could cut through all that glitter. And despite playing the resident baddie, she’s so irresistibly charismatic that you can’t help but adore her anyway.



Her nemesis is Princess Snow White (Briana Craig) &#8211; the true fairest in the land &#8211; who promptly falls head-over-heels for Prince William. From there, you know the drill: villainous orders, a dangerous apple, and seven delightful dwarfs who swoop in to save the day.



There is an unexpected twist to the tale this time &#8211; although there are no spoilers here. But let’s just say it involves that notorious apple and a certain prince-and-princess moment you won’t see coming.

Comedian Aaron James shines as Muddles, the Jester and best friend of Princess Snow White, slipping into the role like an old friend. He brings warmth, energy, and a cheeky sparkle to every scene. And he’s effortlessly good at delivering the innuendo without ever missing a beat.



TV presenter and barrister Rob Rinder is fabulous as The Man in the Mirror. Barrister jokes fly thick and fast, and he sashays across the stage in a shimmering silver jumpsuit and killer long boots with a swagger that only he could pull off.

Classic panto antics are all present and correct: plenty of “oh no she didn’t!” lines, audience participation (Luke was a particularly good sport on the night I went), and playful digs at local towns &#8211; hello, Reigate and Knaphill!



A standout moment comes in the tongue-twister scene, featuring poisonous pythons that hiss in a pit. (You can see where that&#8217;s going!) It’s impressive, cleverly crafted, and deliciously funny.



Together, Lesley, Aaron, and Rob form a dream team, keeping the gags flying and the audience firmly in their palm. They turn the tricks on each other, clearly having a ball on stage. It’s hard to tell where the scripting ends and the ad-libbing begins. Although I’m fairly sure Lesley “don’t-call-me-Lesley” wasn’t meant to lose her wig. Who knows? But we still laughed hard.



And the music? A live orchestra underpins a setlist of favourites. There&#8217;s Benson Boon’s Mystical Magical, Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy reworked as Bad Girl for Queen Dragonella, and of course the ever-popular Twelve Days of Christmas, featuring loo rolls and smelly socks.



Woking’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a sparkling, high-energy, laugh-out-loud festive treat. Glamour, glitter, cheeky innuendo, and a cast clearly loving every moment on stage make this a joyful experience for all.

Not for: Those who prefer subtle theatre or a quiet night. This is full-on, glittery, fun-packed chaos from start to finish.
