It’s a p-p-p-pumpkin party at the family-owned Crockford Bridge Farm throughout October. This is one of Surrey’s largest growers and at 40-years-old it’s also the oldest pumpkin patch in the county. Their fields are open for picking until 19 Oct and you’ll find a huge array of pumpkins and squashes in all shapes, sizes and colours, plus garden games and photo opportunities. The Pumpkin Festival kicks off on 25 Oct. This year’s festival is inspired by Willy Wonka, and you can expect a dazzling mix of theatre, circus, fairground games and rides, interactive activities and pumpkins galore — all set within beautiful, imaginative surroundings of Wonka-Land. There will also be ice cream, hot chocolate and street food vendors. Tickets sell fast for both the pumpkin picking and the festival so book early.

Hobbledown Heath, Hounslow

The pumpkin patch at Hobbledown Heath near Hounslow has sprouted again this year. Head to the big meadow on the River Crane, right beside the Hounslow Heath nature reserve, where you can enjoy a range of seasonal delights, as well as pick your own pumpkin. Collect your wheelbarrow, then browse through a variety of different pumpkins until you find the perfect one to take home with you.

Godstone Farm, Godstone

One of Muddy’s favourite family days out is also great destination for the little ones during the Halloween Extravaganza week. And this year the pumpkin patch is bigger and better than ever! There’s also carving activities (£4.50 extra), spooky crafts, quizzes plus a Monster Nerf shootout. There is also the usual farm fun and their mega soft play barn if the weather turns.

Celebrate all things pumpkin at Secretts Farm Pumpkin Week where as well as picking your own you, there’s a fancy-dress competition and kids activities like scavenger hunts, plus a pumpkin themed menu in the café. If you’re after a big pumpkin, bring something to help you carry, drag or wheel it from the field! Over 100,000 pumpkins have been grown this year from 11 different varieties – from Harvest Moon to Ghost, Goosebumps and Big Moose.

Mayfield’s Secret Lavender Garden, Epsom

New this year at Mayfield’s Epsom site is the Malice in Lavenderland halloween adventure. As well as a PYO pumpkin patch in the lavender fields, there’s an immersive White Rabbit activity trail. Think haunted mirrors, cobwebbed tea parties, fiendish flowers, creepy wishing well, Mad Hatter’s Garden, Twin Peaks, Queen of Hearts’ Domain, and a ghost train.

Garsons Farm, Esher

Get in quick to get your tickets for the Pumpkin Parade 2025 from this massive 155-acre farm just outside Esher on the banks of the River Wey at West End. This is one of the biggest PYO farms in the UK with around 26 different crops, and as well as giving you access to the undercover pumpkin parade, you can also visit the other farm fields. You’ll need to pre-book and they sell fast – particularly close to Halloween.

Priory Farm Estate, Nutfield

Take a tractor ride (or drive yourself) to the Priory Farm pumpkin field and pick your own gourd ready for carving. More than 10,000 pumpkins are grown at Priory Farm each year in all shapes, sizes and colours. The fun doesn’t end with the pumpkin picking though – there’s also the Hay Bale Maze where twists and turns lead to hidden surprises, plus pumpkin games and photo opportunities. Tickets are available on the door but booking is highly recommended.

Tulleys Farm, Crawley

Tulleys Farm, on the Surrey / Sussex border, doesn’t do thing by halves (the Shocktober Fest at Halloween is also legendary) – and this year has more than a mammoth 1 million pumpkins ripe for the picking in more than 100 varieties. That’s a lot of pumpkins! Whether you like knobbly ones, wrinkly ones, big ones, or small ones there is a bountiful supply… even white ones! There are daytime PYO sessions, as well as night picking – and there are also Insta photo opportunities set up around the farm. There’s live music, a bar and street food stands and live characters roaming around. This year there’s also an observation wheel Tickets must be pre-booked, and (to tip!!) they’re already selling faster than pumpkin pie.
