<p>Fancy a film that’ll get your heart racing? Austin Butler, Tom Hardy&nbsp;<em>and</em>&nbsp;Jodie Comer (too much hotness in one cast) star in this rip-roaring, rubber-burning, full throttle thriller, inspired by Danny Lyon’s book of photography,&nbsp;<em><strong>The Bikeriders</strong></em>. Charting the rise of 1960s Midwestern motorcycle crew, the Vandals, as seen through the eyes of Kathy (Comer) the wife of a wild biker named Benny (Butler) whose measures of devotion to the Vandals death-or-glory leader, Johnny (Hardy), spiral out of control. It’s gritty, compulsive, if a bit violent, viewing that may make you want a spin on a Harley or, at the very least, invest in a new leather jacket.</p>

<p><em>Bad Boys</em>&nbsp;really are for life as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are busting out Detectives Mike Lowry and Marcus Burnett for a fourth edge-of-your-seat exploit. Corruption is at the heart of&nbsp;<strong><em>Ride or Die</em></strong>, and the Miami PD, when the boys Captain (Joe Pantoliano) is accused of working with drug cartels. Believing this to be a set-up, Mike and Marcus assemble a team to clear his name but quickly go from Miami’s finest to Miami’s most wanted. Yikes. It’s a familiar format – explosions, bullets, bodycounts, witty one-liners – but as long as Smith and Lawrence have the energy for it (they are pushing 60) we’ll keep watching.</p>

<p>Not normally one for horrors but a remake of cult movie&nbsp;<strong><em>The Crow</em></strong>&nbsp;which spent a whopping 15 years in development caught our attention. Throw in Bill Skarsgård (and his familial brand of rippling abs) and the captivating FKA Twigs and we’re there with bells on – albeit peeping through our fingers. Skarsgård takes on the hefty role of Eric Draven – the role made famous by Brandon Lee who sadly died during filming of the 1994 original – a soulless man out to avenge the murder of his fiancé. It’s bold, bloody, bad ass with a banging soundtrack. If you don’t compare old and new too much, you’ll be fine.</p>

<p>Prepare yourselves for Jude Law like you’ve never seen him before – an oozing, obese, paranoid and irritable yet absolutely scene-stealing Henry VIII. Based on the novel by Elizabeth Fremantle,&nbsp;<strong><em>Firebrand</em></strong>&nbsp;centres on the final years of Henry’s life with a refreshing focus on his last wife, Katherine Parr (played by an incredibly composed Alicia Vikander). As she tries to keep her neck intact, Katherine becomes increasingly interested in the radical preachings of Anne Askew (a superb Erin Doherty) much to the dislike of Henry and his gossip-fuelled court. In a word, intense, and though it plays fast and loose with historical fact,&nbsp;<em>Firebrand</em>&nbsp;is still a rip-roaring, titillating Tudor romp worth watching.</p>

<p>Repping the kids this month is&nbsp;<strong><em>Inside Out 2</em></strong>, the sequel to the 2015 Oscar-winner which saw characterised emotions Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust and Fear battle it out inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl called Riley. Now Riley is 13, hormonal and at high school prompting the emergence of new emotions, Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment and Enui. With more celebrity dulcets than we can count – Maya Hawke, Amy Poehler, Kyle MacLachlan, Ayo Edebiri, Tony Hale, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Paul Walter Hauser to name a few. This funny follow-up is a sure-fire, family friendly hit.</p>

<p>New favourite double act incoming! Lena Dunham and Stephen Fry (yes you heard) play father and daughter in tragicomedy,&nbsp;<strong><em>Treasure.</em></strong>&nbsp;Dunham plays American journo Ruth who travels to Poland with her Holocaust survivor father, Edek (Fry) to visit some of his childhood haunts. But reliving such trauma is too much for Edek so he sabotages the trip to hilarious and heartbreaking effect. Not going to lie, you’ll be put through the emotional ringer but it’s worth it for Dunham and Fry’s undeniable chemistry.</p>

<p>After scooping up all the gongs for&nbsp;<em>Poor Things</em>, triple threat Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe&nbsp;<em>and&nbsp;</em>Yorgos&nbsp;Lanthimos are back at it, this time with a curious triptych of tales in&nbsp;<strong><em>Kinds of Kindness</em></strong>. Bustling with Lanthimos’ dark, shocking yet exquisite style, the film follows a downhearted office worker who finally snaps at his tyrannical boss, a police officer who suspects his marine-biologist wife has been replaced by a double and two cult members hunting for a woman they believe can raise the dead. Phew. There’s a lot going on, but with Stone, Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Jesse Plemons, Joe Aldwyn and Hunter Schafer involved, we have faith.</p>

<p>Set long before Emily Blunt and John Krasinski were surviving in silence,&nbsp;we are taken back to the day the world went mute in all its scary, apocalyptic, won’t-sleep-for-a-week-after-watching, glory. Gulp. Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, Lupita Nyong’o and cat, take on the terrifying central roles trying to survive as droves of strong, super fast aliens with incredible hearing descend on Earth. Even though we already know we’ll be watching this from behind our popcorn, something just keeps pulling us back to the terror of&nbsp;<strong><em>A Quiet Place</em></strong>.</p>

<p>Going some way to fill the&nbsp;<em>Yellowstone</em>&nbsp;shaped void in your life comes Kevin Costner’s sweeping American epic,&nbsp;<strong><em>Horizon</em></strong>. The first of four parts (prepare for a&nbsp;<em>slooow&nbsp;</em>burn) which depicts the expansion of the American West during the Civil War through multiple plot threads and an all star cast – hello Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone, Danny Huston, Luke Wilson, Giovanni Ribisi, Glynn Turman and Jamie Campbell Bower (yes, Vecna from&nbsp;<em>Stranger Things</em>). An ambitious project which has so far received mixed reviews, but a seven minute standing ovation at Cannes speaks for itself – consider us invested.</p>
