<p>Set in four acres of pretty landscaped gardens, Guildford Lido is one of the few remaining 1930s outdoor swimming pools in the UK. During the summer, it&#8217;s kept heated to a rather delicious 24 degrees. And at 50 metres, it&#8217;s Olympic sized so great for swimming lengths if you&#8217;re feeling energetic. It&#8217;s open for early-morning lane swims and then more relaxed swimming during the day. <p>Open all year round, this outdoor swimming pool is arguably Surrey&#8217;s best kept secret. It&#8217;s been described as “one of Britain’s coolest, biggest, hippest pools”. (Just sayin&#8217;!) It&#8217;s right next to Bushy Park, and the water is kept at at steady 28 degrees all year round. Perfect for a mid summer swim &#8211; but also not bad for those wanting a bit of pool action mid winter! The main 36-metre pool is is split in half at all times to allow for lane swimming on one side and family swimming and fun on the other. There&#8217;s also a shallow learning pool which is the perfect spot for young children and their parents to cool off. And when you&#8217;re not in the H20? Laze on the large grassy area! <p>This 33-metre pool is surrounded by a large grassy area &#8211; which makes it the perfect spot for relaxing and soaking up the sun &#8211; and it&#8217;s kept at a cool 24 degrees. There are 6 lanes in the pool, if you fancy getting more energetic. <p>Set on a beautiful private freshwater lake next to Ash Link Nature Reserve, this 400 square foot floating obstacle course offers a fun challenge whilst you cool off. There are climbing walls, slippery walkways, slides, balance beans, trampolines and more. Open to ages 6 and up. <p>The ultimate floating obstacle course with slides, balance pontoons and slipery slopes, Thorpe Lakes offer age-based sessions throughout the day &#8211; so there&#8217;s no need to worry about your six year old getting knocked off by an over-exuberant 16-year-old. Sessions are for under 4, under 13, under 18 and adults. Parents or guardians can take part in the sessions on 1 child per adult basis. <p>Home to Europe’s largest aqua park and the first Ninja Warrior UK Aqua Park, Liquid Leisure has long been the place to slide, bounce, jump, climb and get dumped into the water. <p>This large paddling pool in the middle of Stoke Park is a great place for little ones to cool off, although it can get very crowded on hot days. It&#8217;s nice to take a picnic. It&#8217;s also free!<br><strong>Getting there:</strong> Nightingale Road, Guildford, GU1 1ER</p>
