<p>Fancy skating in the shadow of Henry VIII&#8217;s old gaff? This open air ice rink has spectacular views of the historic Tudor palace, floodlit with colours for the evening. Skating sessions are 45 minutes, and booking is recommended. It&#8217;s outdoors, so don&#8217;t forget to wrap up warm. And then when you&#8217;re finished, the on-site café serves up mince pies, hot choc and mulled wine, plus sandwiches, wraps and sharing boards. Make a day of it and tour the palace while you’re there. </p>

<p>Glide like a thoroughbred at this new pop-up ice rink coming to the racecourse at Epsom Downs. It&#8217;s under cover &#8211; so perfect for all weathers, and there&#8217;s also a Christmas market plus food and drink. Sessions are 45 minutes and skaters must be aged 3 and above. There are &#8216;peaceful sessions&#8217; which have fewer people on the ice, quieter and calmer music, plus static lights rather than strobe lighting. Skate aids are also available for £5.</p>

It&#8217;s open guests only to including those staying overnight, dining or booked in for a spa day. There&#8217;s a skate and dine package, as well as a stay, skate and dine package. Skate sessions are 45 minutes, plus a festive treat for all skaters. Those staying overnight can enjoy unlimited skating during the stay.</p>

And if you&#8217;re not convinced by the ice skating, there are also fairground rides including dodgems. </p>

<p>Set against the iconic backdrop of the revamped Battersea Power Station, this is possibly the coolest venue in town. Skate around three interconnecting ice open-air rinks surrounded by twinkling lights and a towering 30ft Christmas tree in the centre of the ice. Off the ice, you can carry on the fun with vintage-style fairground rides and live entertainment in The Glass House. There&#8217;s also no shortage of restaurants and bars at the Power Station.</p>

Each session is 90 minutes and penguins and snowmen are available for hire.
