So. Many. Great. New. Restaurants. If you’re feeling nostalgic for the 90s after a marathon viewing of&nbsp;Beckham&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Crown, you’ll be pleased to hear Le Caprice is having a relaunch in early 2024. Ok it’s renamed&nbsp;<a href="https://jeremykingrestaurants.com/">Arlington</a>, BUT it sits on the same spot as Le Caprice (just behind the Ritz on Arlington Street) and is being launched by original founder and legendary restauranteur Jeremy King (formerly The Wolseley, Brasserie Zedel). Apparently it will be a ‘loving recreation of the original’, which used to attract the likes of Princess Diana, Liz Hurley and Madonna, who loved nothing more than a bang bang chicken (rumoured to be back on the menu). Muddy for one can’t wait to sit at the bar and star-spot.



Not content to resurrect an iconic 90s eaterie, King’s also opening&nbsp;<a href="https://jeremykingrestaurants.com/">The Park</a>, opposite Kensington Palace Gardens, which will be a European-style grand café but with roots in the Californian food scene. Sounds delish.

Next up, something dear to Muddy’s heart: carbs.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.emiliaspasta.com/">Emilia’s Crafted Pasta</a>&nbsp;(above) is opening another joint, this time in Marylebone (Baker Street, to be precise) in January and we’re very much looking forward to tucking into dishes like handmade ravioli and four-hour slow-cooked pappardelle bolognese on a cold winter’s day.&nbsp;



Another hot opening at the end of Jan? Josephine, the latest delectable dining option from Claude Bosi (of&nbsp;<a href="https://claudebosi.com/restaurant/">Bibendum</a>&nbsp;fame), who’s joined forces with wife Lucy to open this smart-looking bistro on the Fulham Road. Named after his grandmother, it’s based on a Lyonnaise bouchon – think delicious plates of coq au vin, duck pâté and roast pork, plus wine will be served bouchon-style, allowing guests to only pay for what they drink. Website coming soon. Oo la la.

Grab your oversized sunnies, because famous Parisian restaurant&nbsp;<a href="https://www.langhamhotels.com/en/the-langham/london/dine/mimosa/">Mimosa</a>&nbsp;is opening in The Langham hotel in early 2024. The first international outpost of the famous French eaterie, expect Riviera-inspired dishes by chef Jean-Francois Piege,&nbsp;like blue lobster paired with aioli, fresh grilled octopus, chickpeas, and coriander. Oh and there’s an eggs Mimosa bar, which sounds intriguing.



If you prefer street food and bargain prices to fancy French fare,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.boxhall.co.uk/">BoxHall</a>&nbsp;at Liverpool Street is going to be worth a trip out east when it opens in 2024. Set in The Metropolitan Arcade, it’s from the team behind Shoreditch’s Boxpark (but inside and flogging food rather than fashion) with 16 vendors and two bars. &nbsp;



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-hotels-nbsp">HOTELS&nbsp;</h2>

Big news. Huge.&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sixsenses.com/en/new-openings/london">Six Senses London</a>&nbsp;opens in the capital next year. If you’re not familiar with the luxury hotel chain, believe us it’s a reason to celebrate. Not only do Six Senses set the bar high for wellbeing (we’re talking amazing spa, 25m pool and wellness club), its dining’s also off the scale and bedrooms super luxurious. We can’t wait to pay a visit when it opens in a former art deco department store in Bayswater.

More big news. One of Muddy’s favourite London hotels,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mandarinoriental.com/en/london/hyde-park">Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park</a>, is launching a sister hotel in the capital. That’s right, opening early in the new year,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mandarinoriental.com/en/london/mayfair">Mandarin Oriental Mayfair</a>&nbsp;lies on Hanover Square and has a far sleeker glass exterior (see above) than its red brick Knightsbridge counterpart, but promises an equally amazing spa (25m indoor pool, signature treatments and fitness centre), luxurious rooms and restaurants (overseen by Michelin-starred Akira Back) inside. &nbsp;



Love a view of the Thames? Same, which is why we’re flagging up the UK’s first Park Hyatt hotel, set on the south bank and due to open its doors late 2024. Views aside,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/england-united-kingdom/park-hyatt-london-river-thames/lhrph">Park Hyatt London River Thames</a>&nbsp;sounds like it’s also going to be a top place to chill, with a spa featuring an indoor pool, nail studio, relaxation lounges, fitness room and yoga studio. Dining-wise there’ll be an all-day restaurant, Asian cuisine and wine bar.&nbsp;

Swanky suite-only&nbsp;<a href="https://www.the-emory.co.uk/the-suites/">The Emory</a>, overlooking Hyde Park, will fling open its exclusive doors in the Spring (it’s taking bookings from 4 Apr) and we’re keen to see what the team behind Claridge’s and The Berkeley create. Rumour has it, it’s going to be&nbsp;tres, tres&nbsp;posh (we’re talking more than £2,000 per night), with 60 suites set over nine floors in a modern, glass-fronted building, where guests have access to the hotel’s exclusive private rooftop Bar 33, free airport transfers and a mini bar stocked with complimentary gourmet food and drink (you’d hope so for that price).



Not forgetting&nbsp;<a href="https://thenewman.com/">The Newman</a>, scheduled to open in Fitzrovia towards the end of 2024. Apparently it’s going to be a contemporary hotel with 81 rooms and suites, Euro-style brasserie, cocktail bar and wellness floor (sound promising, no?).&nbsp;



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bars">BARS</h2>

Karaoke is about to get stylish. Prepare to holler your way through 2024 because iconic&nbsp;<a href="https://uk.bam-karaokebox.com/">BAM Karaoke Box</a>, which has five stylish venues across Paris, is coming to London town. Set to be Europe’s largest karaoke joint, with 22 music rooms, BAM BAM bar, outdoor terrace, DJ and live music stage, gather your mates and head to its new home in Victoria when it opens this spring.

Sound the klaxon, the avocado has lost its grip on restaurant menu and is being replaced with Champagne – and we’re toally here for it. Avobar on Henrietta Street has closed and replaced by Bar du Champagne from the same owner. The new bubbly bar and bistro and bar will serve difficult-to-source cult Champagnes, classic cuvees and top tier Spanish cava, with a menu of truffled Croque Monsieur or steak tartare with lardo toast to keep you standing upright.



Meanwhile, Covent Garden Party favourite&nbsp;<a href="https://lockes.co.uk/battersea-rise/">Lockes</a>&nbsp;is expanding to a new site in Battersea Rise in Jan, close to Clapham Common. Sure to be an instant hit with the sequins and wine brigade, there’ll be outside seating, a central cocktail bar and open kitchen churning out pizzas and platters to soak up all that Prosecco.&nbsp;Hic.

Muddy’s a sucker for a roof terrace and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.mandarinoriental.com/en/london/mayfair/dine/abar-rooftop">ABar Rooftop</a>, offering panoramic views of London’s skyline and a killer cocktail list, is the dream. Set at the top of the new Mandarin Oriental Mayfair hotel (see hotels above) there’s also a light bites menu curated by chef Akira Back.&nbsp;

Pink outfits at the ready! Tina Fey’s musical&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thesavoytheatre.com/shows/mean-girls">Mean Girls</a>&nbsp;is coming to the West End next summer (June 2024 at the Savoy Theatre) and we’re more than ready for the rivalry, sass and catchy songs. Keep your eyes peeled for tickets going on sale as they’ll be snapped up.



Grab a white glove and trilby, because&nbsp;<a href="https://london.mjthemusical.com/">MJ the Musical</a>&nbsp;is heading from Broadway to London’s West End in March. Definitely a hot ticket for 2024, with smash hits like&nbsp;Thriller,&nbsp;Beat It&nbsp;and&nbsp;Billie Jean&nbsp;on the score, plus a (moon)walk into the world of Michael Jackson and what made him tick. &nbsp;



And finally,&nbsp;<a href="https://devilwearspradamusical.com/">The Devil Wears Prada</a>, with songs by Elton John, no less, struts into the West End in October 2024. We intend to represent, swaying along in our stilettos (obvs).&nbsp;Can. Not. Wait!!!!!
