THEATRE: How to Date a Feminist

COMEDY: Hellfire Comedy Club

Hellfire is back for another curry and comedy combo to make your month. The evening boasts some of most successful acts in the circuit, and a mouth-watering dinner. Arrive at 6.30pm for the meal, with the show starting at 8pm. Tickets cost £37.50.

WORKSHOP: Nagomi Art Workshop – Tulips

A healing and mindfulness orientated art form that originated in Japan, this workshop is for all abilities, and focuses on exploring your artistic nature. Lead by certified instructor Cherie Crafty, participants will be guided through the techniques of calm creation. The session costs £26 and lasts from 10.30am-12.30pm.

COMEDY: Jon Culshaw: Imposter Syndrome

The star of various BBC comedy ventures and Channel 4’s Partygate, Culshaw’s show is a culmination of comedic music and impressionism. Tickets available from £26.

WORKSHOP: Watercolour Botanicals for Beginners

THEATRE: The Iliad

The classic tale following Achilles struggle for power in the Achaean camp, with Agamemnon vying for power and Hector leading the army. Achilles must choose between his pride and his people. Adapted by Nicole Burley, standard tickets cost £18, which child and concession tickets available.

Join the hilarious Harry Hill as he celebrates a 60-year career. The show boasts comedy, and never heard stories. Suitable for ages 9+, the show costs £33 and begins at 7.30pm.

THEATRE: The Picture of Dorian Gray

What is the cost of eternal young? Based on the novel by Oscar Wilde, this production follows young Dorian Grey and his catastrophic quest for unending beauty. The show features puppetry and original music! Suitable for ages 10+, tickets cost £16.

EVENT: Mother’s Day Nature Train Ride
■ Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking ■ Mon 30 March

EXHIBITION: Flower Fairies™: The Magical World of Cicely Mary Barker

Step into the enchanting world of Cicely Mary Barker, the creator of the much-loved Flower Fairies, in this playful, family-friendly exhibition. Celebrating the life of an extraordinary artist, author and illustrator, the exhibition explores Cicely’s journey as an artist – from her childhood sketches to postcard designs and the illustrated books she created later in life.

EXHIBITION: The Spirit of Charleston

Featuring the work of 10 artists, this exhibition showcases pieces inspired by Charleston and the style of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. All works are for sale, with entry into the event free.

OUTDOORS: Sounds of Blossom

A collaboration with the Royal College of Music, enjoy a variation of compositions playing around the blossom’s spots in Kew, that allow for greater sensory immersion and mindfulness. Included with entry.

EXHIBITION: Matisse: Drawing with Scissors

MUSIC: Surrey Hills International Music Festival
■ various venues throughout Surrey ■ Tues 6 to Sat 17 May
World class classical musicians descend on Surrey for this annual music festival that takes place each spring. Highlights include Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble VOCES8 celebrating their 20th anniversary and performing a special concert at Guildford’s Holy Trinity Church (Sat 10 May). Musicians from the internationally acclaimed Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center in New York will perform with the Sitkovetsky Trio at the Menuhin Hall, Cobham (Thurs 15 May) and also in the Festival Finale at St Martin’s Church, Dorking (Sat 17 May). Virtuoso pianist Alim Beisembayevm who won the2021 Leeds International Piano Competition, one of the world’s foremost music competitions will give his first concert at the Menuhin Hall (Thurs 8 May).
