<p>Oooh we’ve had a sneak peek inside the old Co-op in Oxted as it transforms into Medora – a brand-new Mediterranean restaurant &amp; bar &#8211; coming (hopefully) this side of Xmas. Local resident and businessman, Baram Kandil (owner of several barbers in the town) and partners are transforming the large space on Station Road East into a vibrant new dining spot. Promising a central bar with curated wine and drinks list and Mediterranean menu inspired by Greek, Turkish &amp; Lebanese favourites to complement Oxted&#8217;s existing restaurants. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-fashion-and-flair-in-godalming"><strong>Fashion and flair in Godalming</strong></h2>



<p>It&#8217;s all happening in Godalming with two openings &#8211; the new arrival of a gorgeous lifestyle store Vinegar Hill and the return of a Catwalk boutique. <a href="https://vinegarhill.co.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vinegar Hill</a> opens in the former Barclays Bank building on the High Street in November. The family-owned chain has several stores throughout the south-east, including one in Farnham, selling carefully curated homeware, gifts, and stylish clothing from the UK and&nbsp;around the world. </p>



<p>Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/catwalkgod/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Catwalk Boutique</a> is reopening under new management bringing back to Godalming a curated edit of quality women&#8217;s fashion &#8211; think labels like Oui, PartTwo, Rino and Pelle,  NYDJ jeans. The High Street boutique, formerly a sister store to The Gate in Guildford, closed down in November 2024. New owner, Caroline, reopened the doors last week with a celebration of fashion and fizz.</p>

<p>Who said LEGO® is just for kids? <a href="https://www.wearebrickstop.com/">Brick Stop</a> café in Caterham is a calm and inviting space created to appeal to adults over kids. Set to disrupt the indoor entertainment industry we&#8217;re talking cool industrial interior, great coffee and bakes and absolutely no ultra-processed junk. It&#8217;s been in a quiet soft launch phase but owners Claire and James officially opened on 1 October so <a href="https://wearebrickstop.digitickets.co.uk/tickets">book a session</a> and get building now.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-padel-and-pickleball-in-farnham"><strong>Padel and pickleball in Farnham</strong></h2>

<p>Plans to build a new pickleball and padel centre are moving forward in&nbsp;Farnham, following a partnership between a developer and <a href="https://hurlands.com/">Hurlands</a> Pickleball + Padel Club. The £2.75 million project will provide 13 indoor courts at the Farnham Trading Estate &#8211; 10 pickleball courts and three padel courts and is set to open in January 2026. Proposals also include social spaces, yoga, Pilates studios, treatment rooms, changing facilities and a club shop so watch this space.</p>

<p>Need a hair refresh? Head to newly opened <a href="https://www.hairbyallie.co.uk/">Hair by Allie</a> on Corner House Parade, Epsom Rd. Offering all the usual services including Brazilian blowdries and extensions, the stunning looking space is the brandchild of Allie, who after 18 years of expertise in colour and styling including six years from home has opened her own salon.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-house-of-beyond-ewell"><strong>House of Beyond, Ewell</strong></h2>



<p>Another beauty spot in Ewell has opened in the shape of <a href="https://www.houseofbeyondbeauty.co.uk/">House of Beyond</a> on the High Street. The calm space offers grooming and aesthetics for men and women including Germaine de Capuccini, Cell Sculpt RF, CACI, Jessica Nails and more. It&#8217;s owned and run by Nicola, formally of the Bourne Beauty Rooms.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-paper-moon-guildford"><strong>Paper Moon, Guildford</strong></h2>

<p>Guildford has a new indie bookshop in the shape of <a href="https://papermoonbooks.co.uk/">Paper Moon</a>. The charming little shop on Jeffries Passage is owned by Hannah Richardson and Jack Mountford who met and fell in love while working at another bookstore in Woking. Awwww! The shop reflects their own tastes; Jack (literary fiction and classics), and Hannah (fantasy and sci-fi, with a dash of historical fiction). There&#8217;s a wonderful blend of new and classic titles and hope to offer a personal experience not offered by the large chains. If Paper Moon goes well they would love to add a café into the shop, so head down and support them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-park-hub-cafe-oxted"><strong>Park Hub Café, Oxted</strong></h2>



<p>Following the successful opening of the <a href="https://masterparkoxted.org/">Park Hub</a> in Master Park in Oxted, the café has now fully opened. Managed by the Titsey Brewing Co. Team, the café has a great menu and is open Wednesday to Sunday, 9-12pm for breakfast and 12pm-3pm for lunch. It&#8217;s a lovely spot for a catch-up over breakfast or brunch with friends, stop-off on your dog walk, or grab a coffee after one of the exercise classes in the park or within the Hub itself.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-goodbye-and-farewell">Goodbye and farewell</h2>



<p>Meanwhile, in Guildford we said our goodbyes to popular coffee shop The Black Sheep back in July &#8211; when the North Street branch closed its doors suddenly. The closure was advertised as temporary, and we were fully expecting them to reopen soon. But we&#8217;ve just heard the news, they won&#8217;t be coming back. So, what next for the prime North Street premise across the road from The Friary Shopping Centre? Watch this space! </p>
