<p>Big news! The popular country pub will re-open after a four year closure and a major upgrade costing a whopping £650,000. Work has already started to spruce up the boozer with a new layout that will include a large bar and two dining rooms with open fires. Each of the dining spaces, seating 30 people each, will have a distinct character. Think flagstone floorings, dark walls and cosy nooks in one. And in the other, a more light and airy feel with abundant greenery and big windows. </p>



<p>Outside there are big plans to create the best pub garden in the area. Expect a partially covered dining terrace with firepit, an adults-only section and a family space with a fenced-off playground. New licensee Adam Hayward is planning events like wine tastings, live music and yoga. Food wise, it&#8217;s all about local ingredients. Traditional pub favourites like fish and chips, burgers and roasts will sit alongside more innovative options. The drinks menu will include local ales, spirits and new and old-world wines. The planned <a href="https://wintertonarmspub.co.uk/">opening date</a> is June.</p>

<p>Can’t survive on a walk without a decent coffee? Say hello to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/fika.blendsandfriends/photos" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">FIKA Blends and Friends</a> the cutest coffee trailer that&#8217;s just arrived in Limpsfield Chart. The vintage horsebox serves <a href="https://roasted.co.uk/pages/contact-1?srsltid=AfmBOoq0ubfDSokDAjfQROcxrOdvYHiMEhcFcK8tqEAsMzHBUEo0l56F" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Roasted</a> barista coffee (brewed in Brighton), and sweet treats to help power you <em>and</em> the kids. Easter was their opening weekend and a huge success so keep an eye on their socials for news, dates and where you can find them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-mediterranean-kitchen-amp-bar-oxted"><strong>Mediterranean Kitchen &amp; Bar, Oxted</strong></h2>



<p>Wow! Another restaurant is due to open in the town of Oxted which is fast becoming the foodie capital of Surrey. Signs have just gone up on the site of the former Co-op store on Station Road East for a Mediterranean Kitchen &amp; Bar, with rumours abound of music and cocktails. The huge site joins cuisines from all around the world already available on the high street. <p>Three stunning Surrey pubs are in the running for the national pub and bar awards, putting them among the best in the country! The annual awards involve more than 250 businesses being nominated for their design, service and value.  The Teller’s Arms in Farnham is relatively new to the scene but the former bank has a beautiful retractable roof terrace with views over the town. </p>



<p>Next on the shortlist is Muddy fave <a href="https://surrey.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/uk/hotels-inns/review-the-kings-arms-gastropub-egham-surrey/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Kings Arms</a> in Egham which offers elevated pub classics alongside bold flavours from across the world. Lastly, The Running Horses in Mickleham, once a coaching house has been a traditional English inn for more than 400 years. The kitchen is the heart of the pub serving a menu focused on simple fresh flavours accompanied by a sommelier curated wine list. We wish them all luck for the awards held in June. <p>Got teens climbing the walls? Look no further than Merstham Recreation Ground which now has a brilliant Parkour track with obstacles to run, jump and climb on. The park near Redhill is undergoing a huge revamp, complete with a new pavilion, play area and outdoor gym. When opened, the area will be transformed with lots to do for children both big and small. The new parkour course is aimed at the over 12s and has been decorated in vibrant colours and is scheduled to open soon, so adventurers don’t have long to wait. <p>The former Therapy Barn in Lingfield and has rebranded as <a href="https://www.studiocore.co.uk/about-1">Studio Core</a> and launched reformer Pilates sessions. The equipment-based exercise loved by celebrities including David Beckham and Jennifer Aniston offers a challenging, workout that helps with strength, flexibility, and core engagement and is only available at a few gyms in Surrey.
